Jakarta skyline
Final goodbye in Bandung
Jakarta Skyline
Indonesia has some pretty powerful rain and thunder storms. Sometimes the skyline afterwards is spectacular.
We are going to miss the Jakarta sunset view from our apartment. There are advantages living on the 20th floor. Notice the road snd the stream of headlights from the traffic jam. A common occurrence here.
Last goodbyes in Bandung
Taruni, Joseph and their son Marisal
Yantie and her daughters, Lauren and Evelynne.
Agnes with her son.
Edi and Lisa Rochaldi, withtheir children, Jay and Lavona, and Edi's mother, Sister Mimin.
Oh how we will miss Edi! Were it not for his support in driving and translating for us on many occasions we never could have done many of the projects that were done in Bandung. Special people!
President Joko, his wife Andrea and their two daughters. Their youngest daughter was about 1 month old when we first arrived. We really wanted her picture but she was sound asleep!
Budi, Dorkas, their little boy and grandmother, Sister Tini
Bro Eddy Halim who recently received his wheelchair from LDS charities (see week of Dec 1, 2014) and Bro Han King. One of the pioneers of the church in the Bandung area.
Sister Silen
Anggang, who just recently completed his mission. Ambar his sister, Their dear mother Marlia and his youngest sister Maria.
Anace Risakota, her son, Niles, and her close friend
Erlin and her daughter
Lauren, a wonderful young man that joined the church about 6 months ago. His parents have passed away and he is on his own. We hope that we can stay in touch with him and that he will achieve all his goals and dreams.
The wonderful missionary team .
We love these young men and have had many choice experiences with different elders over the past 18 months.
Elan faithfully brings her boys to church every Sunday by herself.
A demonstration of commitment and sacrifice.
One last time at the Bandung train station
Many times when we have waited for our train this group of singers have been performing. They are part of a local blind school. They are quite talented and we enjoyed their music.
All aboard for Jakarta
Panoramic views through the mountains back to Jakarta. Always a much more enjoyable way to make the trip than by car.
This picture is taken as we are on a bridge over the ravine, looking straight down to the rice fields.
Our hearts were heavy as we said good bye in Bandung and the wonderful people we have grown to love there. Special memories that we will cherish for the remainder of our lives. It has been said, "You never really leave a place you love, part of it you take with you, leaving a part of you behind."
God bless Bandung and may his choicest blessings be with them.
